Philip J. Furia

Mr. Furia is a highly experienced litigator who has spent more than a decade obtaining outstanding results for his clients in courts throughout the country. He has handled high-stakes disputes and arbitration matters on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, corporations and individuals. Mr. Furia’s diverse experience has included cases involving breach of contract, fraud, real estate, intellectual property and consumer protection. When needed, he calls upon extensive experience as an appellate advocate, having briefed and argued many appeals.

Recent representations include:

• Pursuing class action litigation on behalf of plaintiffs relating to:

  • False advertising of products and services;

  • Contamination of consumer products with heavy metals, phthalates, benzene and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); and

  • Data breaches at corporations and healthcare providers.

• Representing businesses in commercial litigation relating to breach of contract matters, intellectual property and employment issues.

• Handling personal injury, professional malpractice and property damage matters on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants.  

 

Mr. Furia is a 2009 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a Presidential Scholar, served on the Interscholastic Moot Court board and as an editor of the Seton Hall Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Furia was the Chair of the Class Action Practice at Sultzer & Lipari, a leading national class action firm.  Previously, Mr. Furia was also a partner at the renowned litigation boutique Brewer, Attorneys and Counselors (formerly Bickel & Brewer) and at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, one of the largest law firms in the country.
